About the Onsite Support Team

​The Miles Onsite Support Team gets their hands dirty in project work to assist with physical implementations of equipment and doing onsite analysis for initial customer onboardings. You will be working with Cat5e, Cat6 or Fiber cables for businesses as well as going onsite to our clients to assist remote support team members and execute the hands on work.

 

Miles IT is looking for candidates that enjoys traveling to customer sites,thrives on taking personal responsibility for the work to be done you will have spent a good amount of time performing physical networking work. Enjoying physical work in a professional environment is a MUST!

 

​The ideal candidate will be a logical thinker who clearly understands how to prioritize and who is a productive, dependable worker with solid work ethic.

A TYPICAL DAY AS A NETWORK CABLE TECHNICIAN:

  • Ethernet cable runs for existing and new professional buildings, including office and warehouse space
  • Cable terminations to patch panels, wall jacks, etc.
  • Physical installation of racks and cabling organization systems, equipment racking
  • TV mounting for offices and conference rooms
  • Onsite assistance of troubleshooting technical issues while working with a remote Miles team member (not related to wiring)
  • Onsite assistance of implementation of new technology (not related to wiring)

REQUIRED:

  • Experience with network cabling
  • Basic understanding of computing systems
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills and professionalism
  • Strong passion for working with information technologies
  • Highly self-motivated and results-driven

PREFERRED:

  • 1-3 years or more of cabling experience
  • Experience providing IT Support services to businesses

On-Location IT Support Consultant (Tier 1)

About the IT Support Team

Our support team is broken down into two main groups. The first tier is our first responders, tasked with receiving all support requests and promptly handling them. At times, the requests received are too complicated for the first responders and require more technical troubleshooting. When this occurs, the tasks are handed off to our reinforcements group.

 

The Support Consultants are members of our Tier 1 first responder group who spend their day working on a variety of issues for our customers. We take great pride in being responsive and helping people accomplish more with the use of technology. Elevate your problem-solving skills to new heights and make a meaningful impact in resolving challenging technical issues.

 

Common issues that you will work on include desktop, server, network, virtualization, and storage troubleshooting. You will work on problems that may be intermittent and difficult to resolve.

REQUIRED:

  • 1 years experience providing IT services to businesses working for an MSP on a helpdesk or 3 years with a single organization working on a help desk
  • Experience working on a technical support team, at a tier 2 or tier 3 level
  • Ability to diagnose and fix complex hardware and software issues for desktops, servers, cloud services, and networks
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills and professionalism
  • Strong passion for working with information technologies
  • This position entails performing support work for various clients while being stationed at a client facility in your local area. You may work in a rotation in the future at the client site, where one week you will be at the client location, the next you’ll be working remotely from home.

PREFERRED:

  • 3 years experience providing IT services to businesses working for an MSP on a helpdesk or 5 years with a single organization working on a help desk
